Give Hotmail Another Look (Latest Windows News)

The Hotmail team has put together a number of features that will help people work through their e-mail quicker. Granted, once you are focused on a specific e-mail system, it is not easy to give it up for another, especially one that has not been near the state of the art of some of the others.
But that is about to change. Here’s how.
Caching – Hotmail stores data in your browser’s Document Object Model (DOM) while you’re browsing your inbox and this allows quicker access. Then if you close your browser or sign out of Hotmail, this data is eliminated.
Pre-loading  This is similar to caching, but predictive. That means that when you load your inbox, Hotmail will pre-load you first unread messages in the background.
Asynchronous operations – You can perform complete separate actions in parallel now. So if you perform a delete the command is queued up in the background while the inbox refreshes, so you don’t have to wait for one to complete the other.
Block 98% of SPAM – This is a big change from the 35% SPAM block of a few years ago. They accomplish this in three ways.
Implement Smartscreen technology. This identifies SPAM using various sources.
Finding and eliminating Botnets that send out SPAM operations on a daily basis.
The organization of graymail so it is not confused with SPAM.
Works with Mobile Phones As smartphones become more popular, and e-mail operations are considered standard, a good e-mail system that works with the phones is important. Exchange support is part of the e-mail system, so users can also get calendar and contact support. There is even support for Android mobile phones.
New Features Here are some new features to make Inbox Organization easier.
Smart newsletter filtering and it includes a One-click unsubscribe feature
Custom categories and Quick Views, and advanced folder management.
Schedule cleanup to keeping only the latest messages from a sender
Pin flags to the top of your inbox.
